Barcelona International Community Day turns 10
The annual reference event for Barcelona’s international talent ecosystem is being held on Saturday, 28 October. The meeting is now the main welcome and networking event for foreign professionals living and working in the city.

The Museu Marítim de Barcelona will again be hosting Barcelona International Community Day, which this year marks its 10th edition. Promoted by Barcelona City Council, the meeting is a landing and reception point for newly arrived international talent, as well as a space for information, having fun, networking, doing business and much more.
The last edition notched up a record number of visitors, attracting over 5,400 people. This year’s event will again be offering a programme of activities, workshops and talks for all tastes, along with a fair for exhibiting companies and organisations, services, products and initiatives for international professionals.
The venue will be open from 10 am to 7 pm. The event is open to anybody wishing to connect with this community, which brings wealth and diversity to the city. Admission is free by registering in advance at barcelona.cat/internationalcommunityday.
A decade of Barcelona International Community Day
This year’s slogan is 10 years with you, marking a decade of consecutive annual fairs. These include the year of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the event adapted to the situation by becoming Expat Week, with a programme of online activities offered over a full week.
To commemorate these 10 editions, the US artist Philip Stanton has created an exclusive t-shirt for the occasion, to be given to the first 200 people arriving at the opening to the fair on 28 October. The renowned painter, illustrator and designer made Barcelona his home in 1988 and the city has inspired a large part of his work.
Over 50 activities and nearly 100 speakers
The various activities planned, mostly in English, include information and practical talks, workshops, networking activities, musical and other performances, children’s activities and more. All of them are based around the main topics of arrival and personal landing, working and doing business, enjoying the city and making contacts.
Some of the most notable activities address topics such as Barcelona’s science potential, the talent of the Ukrainian community, looking for a flat in the city, how the healthcare system works, practising Catalan and the promotion of women’s entrepreneurship. There will also be more recreational and family activities, such as a human tower performance and a virtual reality experience, as well as entertainment, live music and a big celebration to round things off with a toast and a birthday cake.
As ever, the various host ambassadors for the event will also be present. These six Barcelona-based professionals will be sharing their inspirational experiences in the city with all those attending. The six form part of nearly 100 speakers and experts of various nationalities taking part in the programme of activities.
The business ecosystem at the service of international talent
This edition features nearly 80 exhibitors, including public and private companies and organisations, associations, social clubs, non-profit entities and international schools. Distributed around different stands, these exhibitors will be offering information, resources and specialised services for newly arrived foreign professionals in Barcelona. Some 23% of these companies and organisations will be taking part in the event for the first time.
The fair includes exhibitors from a diverse range of sectors: property, relocation services, talent management, legal and financial advice, education and training, insurance, medical services and more. In short, all areas involved in integration in the city.
Barcelona International Community Day would not be possible without public-private collaboration. This is why the event features a special Banc Sabadell section as the premium sponsor, plus spaces for ERES Relocation, MAPFRE and Entre Trámites as main sponsors. Other notable collaborators include the Barcelona International Schools Association (BISA), the Maremagnum shopping center, the Old Irish Pub and the childcare company The Nanny Line. In addition, La Vanguardia is back again this year as a media partner, along with other media collaborators.
