Barcelona is set to host the first AV Latin American Summit, a summit for specialists from the sector that will make the city the capital of Latin American audiovisuals. The event will take place from 30 January to 1 February 2024 in the Fira de Barcelona venue on Gran Via, and it will form part of the programme of Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the most important audiovisual and integrated systems fair in the world.

The news was announced by Mike Blackman, director general of the ISE, at the EU-CELAC Summit held in Brussels. The director celebrated the fact that the Barcelona City Council had invited presidents and ministers from Latin American countries to participate and also expressed his thanks for the collaboration of the Generalitat through ACCIÓ, which helps to ensure that the event is a success with its network of offices on the continent.

Blackman explained that ministerial and business delegations would be gathering to ensure the city “once again becomes a bridge between Europe and Latin America, resuming its key role as a global capital and in this case for the whole of Latin America.” He also added that “as hosts, Barcelona and Catalonia offer the best of themselves in order to favour exchanges and business, and to become the setting for the most important fair in this sector.”

The keys for facing new challenges

The various governments, institutions and businesses attending the AV Latin American Summit will have the opportunity to share challenges and best practices, to look at investments and work together on key tools for the sector, such as artificial intelligence, the green transition and productivity and talent.

Expectations are high for this upcoming edition of the ISE. The last gathering that took place in May 2023 was a huge success and beat the attendance records of earlier editions, with more than 58,000 people. The event manager assured that this new summit would reinforce the commitment to Barcelona, with a new opportunity that ensures a long-lasting relationship of warmth, admiration and shared success.
