The Mobile World Congress returns with a face-to-face format

After the 2020 edition was cancelled and last year’s event adopted a virtual format, the Mobile World Congress returns with a face-to-face format under the slogan “Connectivity Unleashed”. With seven halls at the trade fair site and nearly 1,500 companies exhibiting, the event is expected to draw between 40,000 and 60,000 people between now and 3 March.

The municipal stand at the Mobile World Congress centres on:

  • Mobile World Capital stand. The programme for this stand includes session on various European projects, on digital connectivity, digital talent and more.
  • 4YFN. The most important meeting for start-ups in the mobile phone industry. Barcelona Activa will have a stand with a space for twenty start-ups from the agency’s business incubator or from their support programmes. The city’s economic promotion agency will also offer a display area, another on networking and a food corner with products from companies in the food sector.
  • Beat Barcelona. This is the first time the city has its own space at the fair, combining the professional and business side with a chance to relax and enjoy leisure and recreational activities. With an area of 1,500 square metres, Beat Barcelona has space for professional networking, economic promotion activities and a display for city festivals such as the Sónar, the Cruïlla and the Mira Digital Arts Festival.

The new edition is being held with health and safety measures such as the obligation for all attendees to have a health certificate showing they are vaccinated or have overcome Covid-19, or a negative test carried out 72 hours before entering the fair; the obligation to download the mobile app for the event so they can obtain contactless credentials, and the daily obligation to accept a health declaration.
