Accessible for people with physical disabilities

The Museum of Natural Sciences of Barcelona has four sites in three of the city’s iconic parks: Ciutadella, Montjuïc and the Fòrum. The latest opened in 2011 in Parc del Fòrum.

It is housed in the building constructed for the 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures and the architects who designed it, Herzog & De Meuron, were responsible for adapting it for the museum and designing the main exhibition.

This exhibition, Planet Life, invites visitors on a journey through the history of life and its coevolution with our planet, using an innovative museum approach and audiovisual and interactive resources to help visitors discover and understand the secrets of nature.

Innovation, science and fun

With 9,000 square metres of facilities and services, the Barcelona’s Natural Science Museum has an innovative programme of activities that combines scientific rigour with a sense of fun, and that includes temporary exhibitions, a media library, the Science Nest (Niu de Ciència) for children aged 0 to 6, conferences and workshops.
