The long-awaited Barcelona International Community Day is just around the corner! For yet another year, the event will be bringing together the city’s international talent ecosystem to offer a reception, meeting and networking space. Under the slogan You feel Barcelona, You make Barcelona, the edition will highlight the wealth that the community brings to the city.

This is the ninth edition of Barcelona International Community Day, reaffirming itself as a consolidated event. With an expected draw of around 4,000 people on October 22, it will be held in the impressive and historic former Drassanes Reials at the Museu Marítim. This free entry event will feature activities, workshops and talks, and also a fair for companies and exhibiting entities to offer their services, products and initiatives for the international community.

There will be a point of reception for newcomers and a meeting place, with information, services, spaces to make new contacts and business opportunities. The day is open to everyone wanting to reach out to the city’s international community and enjoy a concentration of talent, entrepreneurship and projects from all over the world.

You feel Barcelona, You make Barcelona

The city currently has more than 363,500 residents of foreign nationality, making up 22.2% of the total population. And this percentage swells to 29.4% if residents born abroad are taken into account.

The essence and culture of Barcelona are made up of all the different nationalities and customs that coexist here. This is why the motto of this year’s Barcelona International Community Day is a tribute to the contribution that each and every member of the community makes to the city. A lively, diverse and multicultural city worth living in.

More than 50 activities and 100 experts

The fair will offer a full programme of conferences, workshops and round tables with a hundred speakers and experts. In total, around fifty activities have been scheduled, most of them in English and on various topics of interest such as finding one’s feet, working and doing business, enjoying Barcelona and networking.

The event once again will feature the hosts and the hostesses, six people based in Barcelona who will share their inspiring experience. There will also be entertainment, live music and children’s activities, plus a big closing party, a new feature for this year’s edition.

The business ecosystem gets involved in the event

The fair will host around 80 exhibiting companies and entities from various sectors that are part of Barcelona’s international talent ecosystem. There will be companies and organisations, international schools, associations and social clubs, which will be distributed in stands and information points. Some will be participating in the fair again, while others will be making their début.

The Barcelona International Community Day is promoted by Barcelona City Council and is the result of a public-private collaboration. It would not be possible without the involvement of the many companies, entities and people involved.
