B-Step is a City Council initiative headed by Barcelona Activa, together with AtticoLab and Indescat, and in collaboration with the Barcelona Sports Hub. Up to 20 projects are chosen in an initial stage, with a maximum of 12 of them progressing to a second stage, offering 6 months with support at the Coworking Space business incubator in Glòries. The programme has helped launch 40 start-ups since the first edition.

The projects in the fifth edition of this initiative are:

  • iCORPOD: training monitoring system for badminton and other racquet sports.
  • Fitter: app to suggest training, nutrition plans and well-being tools thanks to AI and based on scientific evidence. Can be adapted to various pathologies and user profiles for people of all ages.
  • Ace Roadie: design and production of made-to-measure bike parts, according to the results of biomechanical studies of each client.
  • Ball Inn: basketball and urban culture community looking for funding for a sports facility combining basketball, fitness and urban culture in a single space.
  • Level Unlocked: project to create a video game platform which, by gathering portable data, monitors daily physical activity and generates challenges motivated by healthier habits.
  • Offside Club: mobile app for those wishing to enjoy football beyond the 90 minutes that games last, with questions, surveys and predictions to attract and show data on the visions of fans in real time.
  • Patelle: creation of mobile power generators that turn solar and mechanical energy into electricity to charge essential devices such as mobiles off the network and in remote environments.
  • Fit4good: web platform designed to incentivise physical activity among company staff and drive corporate well-being. Using a games-based approach, the platform offers challenges that turn into donations to NGOs chosen by companies.
  • Mygoodbreaks: fitness platform driven by AI and offering personalised active pauses to reduce stress and tiredness.
  • Cruxlyapp: mobile app generating plans for individual training, nutrition and techniques for climbing.
