Crea Feina grants drive the social and impact economy

The 2025 edition of the city’s Crea Feina subsidies has an overall budget of two million euros and aims to promote permanent work contracts with a minimum salary of 35,000 euros for 235 people with different profiles. The main new feature is a subsidy to strengthen the social economy and other initiatives or companies with an economic impact.

The initial budget is for 200,000 euros, with subsidies ranging from 12,000 to 15,000 euros, the prevision being to generate 15 jobs.

The Crea Feina Investiga subsidies are also being consolidated, launched last year and helping create work contracts for 32 science and research professionals with doctoral qualifications in fields such as health, technology, commerce, food technology and renewable energies. The budget for these subsidies is 500,000 euros this year, the prevision being to generate 35 jobs with a minimum salary of 35,000 euros.

The 2025 call includes Crea Feina Inclusiva, with subsidies to facilitate work contracts for people looking for their first job or the long-term unemployed (at least 12 months in the 18 months before the work contract) or the socially vulnerable.

The budget for these subsidies is initially 1.3 million euros, the aim being to generate 185 jobs with subsidies ranging from 6,000 to 8,000 euros according to the profile of the people contracted.

Fostering quality employment as a priority

The subsidies come within the context of the “Barcelona impulsa” strategy, the economic roadmap for the city through until 2035, which aims to generate up to 180,000 quality jobs and move towards economic diversification and the promotion of strategic sectors.

The plan includes initiatives such as comprehensive programmes with work contracts and the strategy based around the Barcelona Agreement for Quality Employment (ABOQ).
