The CSIC makes a new resource bank available to the scientific community
The new platform is aimed at the general públic but above all, and more specifically, at the educational and information community

The Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the largest public body dedicated to scientific research in Spain, has made a new platform for dissemination available to the scientific community. It is a digital resource bank that will allow scientists and educators to search for tools generated within the centers that this institution has.
The new bank consists of a very intuitive search engine that makes it easy to select the format or topic on which you are looking for materials for dissemination. For example, within the bank you can find a talk on microbial resistance to antibiotics, a workshop to discover the keys to our diet, a scientific bingo, mobile applications such as FuegoApps, a podcast about the cosmos and advanced computing, or an exhibition that highlights the contributions of women to the field of geology.
For those who access it, the contents can be filtered by projects (thematic or institutional initiatives) and by resources (more specific materials such as books or talks associated with projects). In general, the contents revolve around four axes:
– Citizen science: initiatives that encourage the active participation of society.
– Education and science: where teaching proposals and educational materials aimed at teachers and students are collected
– Art and science: combination of artistic expressions and scientific concepts
– Large exhibition spaces: where information about the museums and other CSIC centers dedicated to conservation, research and dissemination is highlighted.
At the moment, around 300 materials have already been entered into this platform, which must now be expanded progressively. With this great objective of making it much more robust, research staff are urged to collaborate with a tool that should bring science much closer to the public.
