Barcelona City Council has published a new edition of the guide “Mesures per a la promoció de l’activitat econòmica de la ciutat de Barcelona” (Measures to promotE economic activity in the city of Barcelona), with more than a hundred resources that include subsidies, grants, financing, changes to regulations and reliefs.  

The guide includes a specific category aimed at retailers, municipal market traders and restaurateurs, with resources such as subsidies, legal guidance, tax and business advice, online courses and training programmes:

  • Subsidies, grants and financing for recruiting staff, improving commercial establishments, the digitalisation of businesses, Christmas lights, or renovation and improvement works in municipal markets.
  • Customised advice programmes, with legal and tax guidance services, business support and support to consolidate and grow business projects.
  • Training programmes with access to courses and practical tools on business management, digital strategy, customer service, sales, sustainability and new trends in commerce and catering, among others.
  • Promotional campaigns and resources to promote local commerce and raise its profile, and public-private cooperation initiatives.
  • Information about changes to regulations, tax relief and other legal and fiscal resources of interest for commercial activity.

Other sections

The 2025 edition of the guide includes various lines of support for the city’s productive fabric, organised by economic project or professional career.
