Culture and digital creativity come forth in Barcelona Digital Impact
“Digital Impact” is the biggest exhibition of leading artists in digital art and design in the Spanish state and will be on from 28 April to 27 August. Housed in the Disseny Hub Barcelona, the display aims to help people engage with digital art and collectively take on board the idea that the digital element can bring about reactions and emotions for the public to delve into. The programme offers activities all around the city and positions Barcelona in the digital art avant-garde at an international level.
With over 3,000 square metres of digital art and design, “Digital Impact” features the work of leading artists from the current scene and will be offering an eruption of creativity around the world, producing art in a different way through various digital tools.
Sixteen digital artists from different spheres will be presenting their work and transforming the Disseny Hub Barcelona into a playground where the public can experiment through advanced technology, visual elements and videographics, algorithms, code and more. Four of the pieces are recent works which will be on display for the first time in Barcelona. There will also be a broad range of activities around the whole city, backed by digital creation promotors.
“Digital Impact” is being promoted by the Disseny Hub Barcelona and the OFFF festival, with the support of the Councillor’s Office for Tourism and Creative Industries, the Catalan government’s Ministry of Culture and various artistic centres and organisations in the city, such as Casa Batlló, El Liceu, Hac Te and Sónar.
