Besides the two main venues, other places around the city’s neighbourhoods will be hosting activities linked to the event, such as Montjuïc Castle, the Moll de la Marina wharf and the Sagrada Família.

Called by the International Union of Architects (UIA), the congress has been held every three years since 1948. This edition is organised by the Architects’ Association of Catalonia (COAC) and the Council of Architects’ Associations of Spain (CSCAE), with the support of the City Council, the Government of Catalonia and the Ministry for Housing and Urban Agenda.

Of the 200 speakers taking part, 75 will be chosen for a jury of internationally renowned professionals in a call open until 23 May, in three different formats; “Critical Design”, aimed at projects, “Critical Paper”, for essays and articles, and “Critical Image”, for audiovisuals.

This edition of the congress aims to attract wider participation, with tickets affordably priced and available as from May.
