The cultural regatta

Barcelona was the setting for the 37th America's Cup from August to October 2024. 
 

Barcelona City Council's Cultural Regatta accompanied that event and the period before the competition, with over 200 cultural, artistic, gastronomic and leisure options.

Art, creativity and excitement combined by the sea and in the iconic Passeig de Gràcia.

    The show that opened the final of the America's Cup on 10 October, 2024, filled the Bogatell beach with light, music and a thousand light drones.

    Culture by the sea

    With the “Classics at the Beach” concerts, conducted by Dudamel and Morlot, the traditional culture programme at the Race Village and “Midday Jazz” at the Port Olímpic.

THE LEGACY OF THE AMERICA’S CUP

With the America’s Cup, Barcelona embraced the economic and sports potential of the sea.

The Fundació Barcelona Capital Nàutica is the coordinating body for the projects stemming from the legacy, which form part of the Pla Litoral.

    Improvements to the coast

    Initiatives carried out include renovation of the Port Olímpic, investment in the Port Vell and the launch of the nautical bus.

    Boost to the Blue Economy

    The Port Olímpic will be a living lab for innovation in the blue economy and a hub for business activity specialising in this area.

    The goal of the new Municipal Sailing Centre is to promote nautical sports among people and the organisation of regattas.
