Casa Fornells, designed by the architect Joan Rubió, was one of the first mansions to be built when Tibidabo was urbanised.

Cultural heritage

Years before, in 1903, the same architect who designed Casa Roviralta built another villa a little further up, Casa Fornells, popularly known as “the Easter cake”. It is a Modernista construction, but with medievalist influences visible in the stone frame of the door and in the details of the gargoyles. The tower is inspired by the Northern European architecture that greatly influenced many architects at the time.
