At the beginning of the 20th century, the Can Castelló Civic Centre, which is located in the gardens of the same name, was a bourgeois country house.

Romantic gardens

The Jardins de Can Castelló belonged to the old country estate. These elegant, romantic gardens are now open to the public. They are full of parterres and century-old trees, including Canary Island palm trees, yuccas, horse chestnut trees and false peppers. The wall surrounding the site is covered by thick vegetation, ensuring peace and quiet in the garden and making it a good place to sit and relax. In the interior, there are excavated channels on either side of the paths, covered in river pebbles. They belonged to the former estate owned by Dr Josep Castelló i Galvany.

Former country house

The building is a large typically rural manor house which was built in the 1930s. It has a gable roof, large windows and balconies on the main facade, and arched windows in the side facade. Today it is one of the few remaining country houses in the neighbourhood.
