This two-storey building, with floral motifs and a clear Modernista influence, stands out on C/ Gran de Sant Andreu. During the Civil War, it served as a soup kitchen.

  • Cultural heritage

Soup kitchens were set up at number 176 of Carrer Gran de Sant Andreu during the Spanish Civil War, where one of the first cinemas in Sant Andreu opened in 1907 before the war, which was called Saló Central. After the war in 1939, a social aid centre was set up in the same place, which reopened the soup kitchens. The original building is still standing today. It is noted for its Catalan Art Nouvaue style with floral sgraffiti.
