BAU is a leading design university in Catalonia and Spain. It is attached to the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) and has occupied over 8,000 square metres of spectacular industrial premises in Poblenou, in the heart of Barcelona's technological and creative district, since 2003. 

BAU is currently the only university in Spain that provides full university courses specialising in design. These include its Bachelor's Degree in Design (with graphics, spaces, fashion, audiovisual and cross-disciplinary options), a Master's Degree in Design, and a doctoral programme in Design and Communication, provided in collaboration with UVic-UCC.  

The institution's education options are supplemented by a wide range of master's and postgraduate degrees (the university's own degrees), its diploma in Graphic Design, RAC workshops and the Summer University. Furthermore, BAU has its own research group, GREDITS, which is recognised by the Generalitat de Catalunya.
