An outdoor shopping centre

Structured round three large buildings with a very broad range of retail outlets, the Glòries Shopping Centre is spread over nearly 30,000 square metres. A small part of this space is taken up by offices, while the rest is dedicated to facilities for customers and visitors.

Created as part of the urban redevelopment for designing the Barcelona of the 1992 Olympic Games, the Shopping Centre forms part of the modern setting of the 22@ district. This is the result of the new architecture which characterised that period and continues to expand today. It has a partially open structure which makes it easy to get round and a pleasant place to spend the day and shop in.

Developing a district

The Glòries Shopping Centre opened in 1995 and was remodelled in 2001 when the nearby Diagonal and Rambla del Poblenou were extended. Today the centre is immersed in another renovation process designed to promote fresh cuisine and take advantage of the latest redevelopment of the area to provide better links and access with the whole district.
