Dr Andreu’s esplanade gives us a place to catch our breath and enjoy the view. In this picturesque spot, passengers change from the antique Tramvia blau [blue tram] to the funicular train that takes them to Tibidabo. It’s a refuge for romantics who gaze at the city lights at night from Mira Blau bar or from Merbeyé, a cocktail bar made famous by the composer Sabino Méndez who felt he had “the city at his feet”.
