The Teatre Lliure, with its two centres on C/Montseny de Gràcia and Montjuïc, is regarded as one of the most prestigious theatres in Spain.

This housed the Cooperativa La Lleialtat at the end of the 19th century. It underwent a major refurbishment in the 1930s, receiving fluted pilasters, three main arches and a first-floor loggia that gives it a marked classical air.
Opened in 1976 and reopened in 2010, the Teatre Lliure offers bold versions of the classics where audience feel they are part of the performance. The Lliure theatre now has a second stage in the Palau de l’Agricultura on Montjuïc.
