Small terraced houses 

Originally known as Camp de Port, this working-class housing development dates from the 1920s and consists of small terraced houses, one or two storeys high, arranged around two streets that form a Y shape on the map. The houses had a small front fence and a rear courtyard or patio.                                         

In the late 1920s, this small neighbourhood was named after the seaplane belonging to the Spanish military aviation service that made the first flight between Europe and America. Its streets were named after the pilots who flew it: aviators Franco, Ruiz de Alda and Durán. In 2018, Carrer de l’Aviador Franco (named after the dictator’s brother) was renamed Carrer del Mecànic Pablo Rada.                                                    

Mercedes Núñez Targa

In 2026, Carrer de l’Aviador Ruiz de Alda (Ruiz de Alda was also a founder of the Falange Española de las JONS) is being renamed after Mercedes Núñez Targa, an anti-fascist fighter who was deported to Ravensbrück concentration camp in 1944. The square at the junction of these two streets is named Jardins de la Trepitjada del Raïm.                                  

The Plus Ultra neighbourhood had its own schools and shops, including Bodega Penya, which dates back to 1927 and started the neighbourhood’s annual festival, the Trepitjada del Raïm (Grape Treading Festival). Held every September, the festival commemorates the vineyards that once stood here.
