Església del Mental is a church in the central part of the Institut Mental de la Santa Creu, an asylum in the heart of the Guineueta neighbourhood.

Santa Cruz was a religious centre for the sanatorium’s patients and staff. Masses were also held there on Sundays and public holidays. The church and its valuables were ransacked by the Republican army on the outbreak of the Civil War. The sanatorium reopened after the end of the war, although mental-health institutions began to decline, with fewer and fewer patients looking for treatment. The church was abandoned after the sanatorium closed down in 1986.
