The history of this parish church is closely tied to the Civil War: the outbreak of the war prevented its official opening and it was later attacked by Republican forces.

  • Cultural heritage

The Santíssima Trinitat Parish Church was to hold its first mass on 19 July 1936, but this was prevented by the military uprising. The church’s altars and objects of worship were set on fire on the outbreak of the war. During the war, the building of the church was used as a Rationalist school, supply centre and committee headquarters of the Trinitat neighbourhood, which became known as “19 de juliol”. The local committees were political organisations.
