Dating from the 18th century, the sanctuary belongs to the parish of Santa Eulàlia de Vilapicina, in the Archdiocese of Barcelona. Together with the Can Basté farmhouse, which houses a civic centre, the former Ca n’Artés inn and two semi-detached houses, it forms part of a historic complex listed as an asset of local cultural interest and is the oldest urban settlement in Nou Barris. It is a simple Neoclassical building. It consists of a single nave with a barrel-vaulted roof, which preserves remains of the previous Romanesque church, itself built using Roman-period structural elements. The façade is crowned by a bell tower consisting of a small section with arches, topped with green glazed ceramic finials.
There has been a church on this site for more than 1,000 years, as documents from 991 and 999 confirm. The current church is 300 years old. It was rebuilt in 1782, with its façade in the Neoclassical style of the time. In 1997, the collapse of the roof of the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament made it possible to study the architectural elements of the former Pre-Romanesque building. The 2004 restoration exposed the primitive sections and covered the parts of the structure dating from the 18th century.
